This is a clever twist that pokes at society’s perception or expectations of Asians in this country. Although at the same time it depresses me that an Asian American speaking without an accent is a big “gotcha moment” for a TV show…as we’re nearing the end of the first decade of the 21st century. What are the wacky TV writers gonna show America next? Asian American dudes droppin’ science with the ladies?

Now I REALLY hate that show. Not only does it not hesitate to play on ratio stereotypes, but I have found a running theme (albeit small sample size). I have seen a one-minute snippet from two different episodes and each time it’s been hard core apologetics and sympathies for pseudoscience hackery (this one being acupuncture, the other being vaccinations causing autism). I don’t actually know if the show is well-acted or well-written, but if all the shows are like this then we’ve got a serious problem.

And by “ratio” I mean “racial.” :-) What the hell was I thinking????
