Last Night’s Dinner

A few friends and I have started a monthly supper club where one person selects a relatively new restaurant that we all dine at. The inaugural meal was held at 6th Street Kitchen in the East Village. The food was delicious and inventive in a non-intimidating atmosphere. My friend Annie (Thanks!) hooked us up with a few complimentary plates, which was fantastic as well. If you need a versatile restaurant with tasty food and wine for a casual dinner with a few friends, a romantical date, or an outing with a large group of friends, then this space is ideal.

A few photos below of some of the plates that we ordered. Some dishes were not photographed (like the amazing chorizo sliders) because…well, they looked too good and we ate them before I thought to snap a photo.

This Is Why Biking Is Good For Your Legs

That’s a great looking bike.

Of course if I took this photo, I’d be pervy, but since it’s snapped by The Sartorialist it’s “artistic” and “street fashion photography.”

Watch: Video of Rare “Fire Tornado”

This. Is. Crazy. I’ve never seen anything so scary: Someone in Brazil captured on video this fire tornado or technically known as “fire whirls.” Or to be truly technical: “HolyeffingshitRUNNNNN!”

Bad yearbook photos. More like amazing.

The Inside Story of How “Madden NFL” Became a Video Game Dynasty

Interesting ESPN article on the early history of the now video game behemoth EA’s Madden NFL. They originally wanted Joe Montana. Instead they got coach Madden. Madden was later offered the option of purchasing EA shares at the IPO price when it went public. He turned it down.

From 1989 to 1999, EA’s share price went from $7.50 to $70. Madden laughs. “That was the dumbest thing I ever did in my life.”

Creep Video

Simple animated video to Radiohead’s “Creep.” I can’t get enough of this song.

Fact: Clowns Kill People.

And clowns have been killing people since 1854.

Presidential Weight

From the White House Flickr description of the above photo:

President Barack Obama puts his toe on the scale as Trip Director Marvin Nicholson tries to weigh himself during a hold in the volleyball locker room at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, Aug. 9, 2010.

One thing (only thing?) the current POTUS and his predecessor have in common: a sense of humor.
