Snapped this in Times Square this past weekend. Here are a few other photos from my life the past couple weeks.

What was the First Banner Ad?

According to Mental Floss, AT&T ran the first online banner ad, seen above, and it was displayed on HotWired.com on October 27, 1994. Cue NBC’s “the more you know” public service announcement.

Colbert Before He Was Famous

Someone unearthed this old commercial starring Stephen Colbert before he became The Stephen Colbert. That the commercial is for a bank is mildy ironic considering his satirical posturing during these tough and turbulent economic times.

Semi-relatedly (so far as actors appearing in commercials before they were famous…), here’s a young Jared Leto and Rebecca Gayheart in a Noxzema commercial.

MoMA’s First Exhibition

NYC’s MoMA turned 82 years old today. It opened its doors in 1929 with a bellwether exhibition “Cezanne, Gaugin, Seurat, van Gogh.” They had 681 visitors on their first day. Coincidentally I renewed my MoMA membership and my new membership card arrived today.

The Highline Park makes its appearance in a recent issue of Daredevil, our favorite blind superhero.
