The New York Times “recruited historians and museum curators to identify 50 objects that could embody the narrative of New York.”
The wooden escalators at Macy’s were always a thrill. Isn’t one still in operation? Also enjoyable was attending “The Children’s Hour” radio live broadcast on a Sunday morning, lunch at the Automat and then Radio City Music Hall for a movie and stage show. What a way to spend a day in the City! The trolley rides were our means of transportation. Great memories! Joan, CT
Yes – The wooden escalators are still rattling around at Macy’s!

I enjoy living in New York City, jumping photos and eating ramen.
