Rocket Frog

One of NASA’s remote cameras capturing the launch of LADEE from the Wallops Island Flight Facility in Virginia on September 6, 2013 also snapped this unlucky frog caught in the aftermath.

Cue a eulogy for the frog:

She packed my bags last night, pre-flight
Zero hour, nine a.m.
And I’m gonna be high as a kite by then.

I miss the Earth so much, I miss my wife.
It’s lonely out in space,
On such a timeless flight.

And I think it’s gonna be a long, long time ‘til touch down brings me round again to find I’m not the frog
they think I am at home
Oh no, no, no, I’m a rocket frog
Rocket frog, burning out his fuse up here alone.
